What is this site all about?

Ian Sumner

Our lives are made up of a never ending series of lessons. We learn, and then we apply what we have learned, so that we may learn more

We hope that the lessons will not be too harsh, and we hope we will eventually be able to make sense of life…..There always seems to be so many challenges!

When we learn a particularly tough lesson, we often think:   “I wish I’d known that years ago, my life would have been so much easier”

With that in mind, this site is intended to help you find the shortcuts to an easier and therefore, a more fulfilling life

Head over to the About TML page to learn more

Thought-Provoking Quote

Children need our presence, more than they need our presents…

I heard this quote for the first time over the Christmas period.  It is so true, but it should not be limited to Christmas, and should not be limited to children.

It should also not be limited to others, but considered for ourselves too!!

We live in a very materialistic society, where we are led to believe that buying someone a gift is what we need to do to show we value the person, and to feel good ourselves.

The greater gift we can give is our time, and when we do, we  really need be present for that person.

Various studies have shown that gifts we buy can have an uplifting effect for a few days and very occasionally longer, but are more likely to last for a few hours or minutes!

The value that someone gets from us being present for them, whether they ‘need’ it or not, can last a lifetime for both the ‘giver’ and the ‘receiver’!

If you are not a member of the Occupy Wall Street movement, and wonder if you should join in, or at least support those that are, this article by Matt Taibbi published in the Rolling Stone magazine explains why with clear examples.

If you ARE a member of the Occupy Wall Street movement, and are not sure exactly what to focus on, matt gives a few specifics to consider.

Matt writes in his usual style, so be prepared for strong language!!

There is also a short video interview included, and Matt is so passionate, that he actually loses it a bit!  I think we can forgive him!!

James Turk – Gold and Silver are your insurance against your currency collapsing

James Turk on King World News

In the article, he concludes:

Your physical gold and silver holdings are insurance against a collapse of the US dollar if you live in the United States.  If you live outside of the US it is your insurance against a collapse of your country or regional currency.  This is an extremely important time in history because people are slowly losing faith in all fiat money globally
